title: 'Re: encryption'
text: 'I partly blame software companies for their deferring 80% of effort for protection to the legal system with a stupid EULA, then create an attractive nuisance online that any idiot can crack, then whine about theft in court. If theyd just have some gonads by inventing decent security, maybe the rest of the world would catch onto the trend. Me, I'm going for dongles. People hate them, but if you throw in stuff they can use, they wont resent them so much. But then its not 100%. A dongle can tell an app, `yes, this is a legitimate copy`, but the app cant say (uncrackibly), `yes, I have a dongle.` Not sure how that works yet.'
