Creationism fails the Lemon test established by the  Supreme Court in Lemov vs. Kurtzman:  Under the Lemon test, a government-sponsored message violates the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment if: (1) it does not have a secular purpose, (2) its principal or primary effect advances or inhibits religion, or (3) it creates an excessive entanglement of the government with religion.

Without religion society cannot survive. When did civilisation come into existence? Yes exactly when religion came into existence.

Not even. Civilization starts with excess resources (ie: storeage of grain). 
 Religion starts only when you begin to have idle-time enough to endulge in it. Science begins to elaborate on religeon only after youre successful enough to support a liesure-class.
 Good idea to look at the origin though to figure what truth might be.
