Your analogy to violence with cotton lint is quite naive,for cotton lint does not harm.If you go with that mindset you would also agree that torture , war and murder are also neutral.Which any sane mind would agree that they are not Violence is by far neutral. Rather violence is unquestionably a contributable factor in the deterioration of a given society.
