Windows excels at user friendliness, and ease of use, while Linux, the simple task of installing can become a 2 day process. One must ask, what is the point of using a computer? What is its intent? 1) Informational purposes. 2) Entertainment Windows has “out of the box†network capabilities making it easy to access the internet, just as effectively a Linux computer could, without all the hassle. Entertainment? From the standpoint of rich-media (Eg, video games/movies/etc) windows certainly excels. To what this can be attributed it debatable, but nonetheless 90% of media and gaming are intended to be ran on a windows machine. I agree with the statement “Windows is better, for the standard user, using a computer for standard reasonsâ€
