Well, I was hoping this point would be more.. uhm.. "pointed". It's a bit generic isn't it. Of course we want to be leaders. A more pointed question is whether to use force to lead, or to lead by example. oh, well. I'll argue anyway.

I think its a case where we had greatness thrust upon us. The point in time to be dreaded is when all the anti-americanism starts turning to silence, because they realize that America is irrelivant in several decades when China is the new superpower, and Russia is their most fav nation right now doing joint military training stuff. The twits will wish they towed the line at that point. UK is becomming isolationists excepting commerce. UN is and always was useless hand-wringers. Nukes in Iran and Korea is now a matter of table-manners.
